PUPPY & SHIPPING INFO

A $200 deposit will reserve your Kerstone puppy. Reservations are strongly suggested, otherwise I cannot guarantee you a puppy. If you change your mind about getting a puppy the deposit will be non-refundable. A range of prices (click here to see our prices page) will be posted after the litter is born. Individual prices will be posted after the pups have been temperament & conformation evaluated at 6-7 weeks old. All puppies will have their temperaments and conformation evaluated by myself and Ronda Beaupre of Regalwise Shepherds. By the time they are ready to go to their new homes I will also have a good idea of what type of home they will fit in. I will accept cash or money orders. I strongly encourage you to come here to pick up your puppy, however, shipping will be available to most places world-wide. Puppies will be shipped out from the Kansas City International Airport and it typically costs around $250 for shipping, plus $30 for the puppy crate, and $30 for the health certificate. Puppies will be partially house trained, crate trained, & leash broke when they leave my home.

OTHER PUPPY INFO

Your puppy will be tattooed in the ear and microchipped for "permanent" identification. My tattooing code will consist of "KS" (Kerstone Shepherds), followed by a letter representing the litter and a number representing the puppy. (Example: KSA1 - Puppy #1 in my first litter. Or KSC8 - Puppy #8 in my third litter.) These "numbers" can be registered with the AKC Companion Animal Recovery System when you send in your pup's AKC registration application. Your puppy will also come with:

  • Puppies that are shipped will come with a veterinary health certificate.

  • The puppy's temperament test results.

  • Pictures of the parents.

  • A four-generation pedigree (at least).

  • A health record.

  • 2 signed copies of each contract your puppy comes with for you to sign (one copy for buyer, one copy for breeder).

  • Lots of reading material (about raising your pup, training, etc.).

  • A copy of the Leerburg DVD "Your Puppy: 8 Weeks to 8 Months" for an additional fee.

Before the puppies leave our home they will be well socialized, vet checked, de-wormed, vaccinated and their temperaments will be evaluated so that they can be placed in their "ideal" home. They will also be partially crate, leash, and house trained. My puppies will also be put through the "Super Dog" early neurological stimulation program! They will be raised in the house - around kids, cats, etc. Most puppies will be ready to pick up here at 7 weeks of age or will be ready to ship by air (weather permitting) at 8 weeks of age.

If at any time during the life of the dog you cannot or do not want to keep the dog, I MUST be contacted!!! I do not want any puppies I bred ending up in a pound, shelter, Humane Society, etc.!!! If there is no solution to your problem I will help find a new home - OR if it is urgent the dog MUST be shipped back to me.

WARNING! ARE YOU PREPARED TO RAISE A WHITE SHEPHERD PUPPY WELL?
From www.regalwise.com.

Is a (white) German Shepherd the right breed for you?  Here is an excellent, easy to read article about who should and should not own a German Shepherd  http://www.teleport.com/~beckym/GSD.html .   The time, emotions, and financial investment needed to raise a puppy to be healthy and well mannered is considerable, and is not to be taken lightly. Please read these ten commandments for responsible pet owners.   Puppies without adequate supervision may be very destructive. They may become territorial, protective, and aggressive. They may dig, chew, bark, jump up, and poop in the house! They may wander off (or actively seek to escape!) and become lost and/or injured. These behaviors can be prevented by careful planning, supervising, and training.  Before you buy a puppy, visit my bookstore to see and buy from the list of books I recommend on raising and training puppies.  The time spent learning and preparing for a new puppy is an excellent investment!

FYI: Here are some reasons people get dogs and then later give them to an animal shelter.
1. Please make sure that no one in your house is allergic to dogs!
2. Will your landlord allow pets, or are you planning on moving in the near future?
3. Do you have time to train a dog not to bite, to be house trained, to be obedience trained, to walk it, play with it and exercise it during the day?
4. Are you going to spay or neuter your pet so you don't bring unwanted animals into the world that will be put down in a shelter?
5. Do you care if the dog sheds hair all over the place, drools water and messes up the car windows, are you prepared for some (hopefully minor) home damage?
6. Do you have other pets that the dog must get along with and how are you prepared to deal with it if they can't?
7. Are you willing to make a lifetime commitment to a dog....they can live up to 15 years or so.
These are all important questions to find answers to before you get your pet.

In addition, the purchase price of a pup is a small fraction of what you can expect to pay for food, vet, and other expenses during the typical 10-14 year life span of your dog. During the first four months alone, you can expect to pay $50-100 a month for food, NuVet supplement tablets, booster shots, and flea and heartworm prevention to insure that your puppy stays healthy. Please consider carefully whether you are able to make this kind of time and financial commitment. If you are, I'm sure that you will be very happy with the results. The rewards of owning one of these intelligent, loyal, and beautiful Shepherds far exceeds the effort invested.

BUYER BEWARE!
Why do some breeders charge more?
From
www.regalwise.com

You do NOT always get what you pay for!  A more expensive puppy from another breeder is NOT necessarily better!  Unfortunately, some breeders with a great sales pitch will charge as much as they can get from unsuspecting shoppers.  If you are interested in a White German Shepherd with better structure, temperament, hips, and correct size, with titles in the pedigree to prove they are good looking and easy to train, I can help you.  I breed to better the breed, not to sell puppies. Consequently, I do not try to produce what puppy buyers think they want, I try to produce what's better for the breed. I do not have ANY puppies that will get over 27 inches for a male, 25 inches for a female.  Females will weigh 65-80 lbs, males 80-100 lbs.    With the outrageous prices that some other breeders are charging, and their irresponsible "Bigger is Better" attitude, it seems as if they are selling dogs by the pound!
